Plant Ecological Genetics

Ecological genetics investigates how wild populations adapt to their environment. This research field is at the interface between ecology, evolution and genetics and is thus highly interdisciplinary. In our research we combine state of the art population genomic and transcriptomic analyses with classical ecological transplant experiments to investigate how plants adapt to their environment and explore when ecological adaptation contributes to reproductive isolation and ecological speciation.
